Youtuber Pavithra's post-CMCO wishlist: To invite PM to her house
Once the
Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) is lifted, YouTuber P. Pavithra knows
exactly what she will do.
"The
first thing I would do is to invite the Prime Minister to our humble abode to
taste my dishes," Pavithra told the New Straits Times.
The
28-year-old YouTube sensation who collaborates with her husband, M. Sugu, 29,
on their YouTube channel Sugu Pavithra, said that she would find ways to send
the invitation to the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and hopefully her
wish would come true.
"I
know it may sound impossible for the prime minister to come to my home because
I am only an ordinary person. But I would love to cook Nasi Biryani Kambing
(Lamb Biryani Rice) and Ayam Masak Merah (chicken cooked with red chillies and
tomato) for him.
"Last
Monday, I received a gift from him. This is the least I could do and I hope we
could meet one day, when Malaysia is free from Covid-19," she said when
met at her home in the palm oil plantation quarters, here.
The mother
of two said she started their YouTube channel on Jan 28 this year, and since
then, she has been uploading her cooking demonstration videos and has garnered
more than 473,000 subscribers to date.
"I
just want to help my husband who works at the estate. He only earns RM1, 000
and once he pays our monthly commitment, we only have less than RM800 to
survive. Because of that, I was determined to help him."What we have right
now is more than enough," she said, referring to her YouTube earnings.
For the
upcoming Hari Raya celebration, Pavithra who speaks fluent Bahasa Malaysia is
planning to cook and distribute meals to the community at the palm oil
plantation quarters."The prime minister even reminded me to cook and share
the meals with my neighbours which I have been practicing. I would use all the
ingredients that he gave to me to cook simple dishes and distribute them on
Hari Raya," Pavithra said.
