Mimaland start operating in 1971-1994. The name Mimaland stands for Malaysia in Miniature Land. Mimaland was built on a hilly area of 300 acres in Ulu Gombak near Kuala Lumpur,. It was owned by Mimaland Berhad, a member of the Magnum Group of Companies.

The park was famous for its dinosaur sculpture around the park and surrounded by tropical rainforest. It also had lakes for boating and fishing which attracts thousands of visitors every year. Other attractions included a pool, said to be the largest in Southeast Asia. However, unexpectedly the park was closed in 1994.

Mimaland has been abandoned since 1994, but many people still go there for thrilling activities, adventures even though Mimaland said to be haunted.  Also Mimaland is tight in security now because it has wild animals roaming around. This is to protect people who visit Mimaland and this is why it is not advisable to visit Mimaland alone.

However, Mimaland has been in many people's memories and it is unbeatable as it is the first theme park in Asia. Some people still choose this place as their adventurous spot. You can still visit this spot but at your own risk, so make sure you have all your safety backpacks before the dinosaurs come alive.
