hindering you from smiling? You wouldn’t want people gazing at those yellow
teeth of yours. So do you rush to the dental every time you face discoloration
of your teeth? You don’t necessarily need to do so because here are few ways
you can get rid of that yellowness at the comfort of your home. The best part
is, the ingredients are natural.
1) Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple cider vinegar contains very mild acid and it helps removes stains and yellowness from your teeth. You can use this method 2-3 times a week, preferably in the mornings. You’ll need about a half tablespoon of apple cider vinegar and a cup of water. Add the vinegar to the water and mix them well. Then use the water to gargle before brushing your teeth.
2) Baking Soda & Lime Juice
You can find this ingredient in every household. Baking soda is alkaline. Not only does it help remove stains but it helps reduce acidity inside the mouth. Lemon juice is slightly acidic and it also helps discoloration on the teeth. However, remember to not keep this mixture in your mouth for too long. For a start, you can use them twice a week and then use them once in 7-10 days. For this remedy, you’ll need a teaspoon of baking soda, a teaspoon of lime or lemon juice and a toothbrush. Mix the ingredients together and by using a toothbrush, apply the paste on your teeth. Leave it for about 2-3 minutes and rinse your mouth with clean water.
The next time you finish eating a banana, don’t throw away the skin. It might come in handy. Banana contains minerals such as manganese and potassium which helps whiten the teeth. The only thing you’ll need a banana peel. Cut the banana peel into smaller pieces. Take a piece and rub it on your teeth. Keep rubbing for 1-2 minutes. Finally, rinse your mouth with clear water. You can do this once every day or on alternate days. You might get a slight bitter taste in your mouth while doing it but not to worry, it’s harmless.
4) Charcoal
Charcoals are effective when it comes to whitening. That is why most toothpaste products use them. Activated charcoal helps whiten the teeth and also prevent cavities, which gives you a healthier teeth and gum. You can use this remedy once or twice in a week. Of course you can’t just use a big chunk of charcoal on your teeth, you need to powder them. You can even purchase readymade activated charcoal powder at stores or pharmacies near you. Using a wet toothbrush, dip it into the powdered charcoal. Then brush your teeth for about 2 minutes in a circular motion. Rinse your mouth with clean water after that.
5) Salt & Lemon
As mentioned earlier, lemon is acidic and it is a natural bleaching agent. Salt on the other hand is an exfoliating agent. Using these two ingredients, you can scrub away stains from your teeth. You’ll need a teaspoon of salt or sea salt and two teaspoons of lemon juice. Mix the ingredients together. Using a toothbrush, brush your teeth like how you normally do and then rinse off with clean water. You can do this twice a week.
Turmeric is a great antiseptic product. It helps make your teeth and gum stronger and remove impurities in your mouth too. Turmeric does leave a yellow stain but don’t you worry as you can still wash them off. You’ll need 1/8 teaspoon of turmeric powder. Wet your toothbrush and dip it into some turmeric powder. Brush your teeth and leave the turmeric in your mouth for 2-3 minutes. After that, you may rinse your mouth and use toothpaste to avoid the yellow staining from the turmeric. This remedy is said to give instant result after using it the first time. But if you must repeat then do it after a few days.
7) Neem
Neem is a natural herb that comes from the neem tree. Neem is used for its pesticidal and insecticidal properties. It is also used in hair and dental products too. Using Neem regularly promises you a healthy teeth and gum. You can use it every day or on alternative days. You’ll need about 4-5 neem leaves and a cup and a half of water. Boil the leaves in warm water for a few minutes but make sure to not over boil it. Then, strain the solution and let the water cool down. If you want to leave the leaves in the solution then you may. Use that water to gargle your mouth before or after brushing your teeth.
Besides banana peel, you can also use orange peel. And you only need orange peels for that. Using the similar method as the banana peel, just rub it on your teeth and then you can use regular toothpaste. Do this on alternate days for at least 1-2 weeks for visible results. Orange peel contains acidic. It helps whiten teeth and is active against microbes. You can also apply orange oil. Just add 2-3 drops of orange oil to your toothpaste and brush them on your teeth and then rinse it off as usual.
Who would have thought a fruit used mainly in desserts to be useful for teeth as well. Strawberries contain two kinds of acid. One is malic acid and the other ascorbic acid. These acids helps remove stains and whitens the teeth. Just a few times using it and you can see visible results. For this remedy, you’ll need a strawberry and a teaspoon of baking soda. Mash the strawberries and mix it with baking soda. Using your finger or a toothbrush, rub or brush the mixture gently on your teeth and leave it for a few minutes. Rinse it with clean water and brush again using regular toothpaste. Hopefully you don’t end up eating those strawberries.
10) Coconut Oil & Sesame Oil
Coconut oil is common oil used for hair and face
products but does it really works on teeth? Coconut oil contains lauric acid
which helps remove plaque-causing bacteria on your teeth. It also gives you a
fresh breath. You can use this remedy every day in the morning. Rub some organic
coconut oil on your teeth for a few minutes by using just your finger. Make
sure you don’t swallow it. Then rinse it and brush your teeth as usual.
Sesame
oil can be helpful too. They have remove stains and plaque. You can use this
once every morning. Take a tablespoon of sesame oil and gargle for about 15-20
minutes. Do this with an empty stomach and do not swallow the oil. After that,
rinse your mouth and brush as usual.

home to whiten your teeth and brighten your smile. Sometimes you need to be a
little patience. When it comes to remedies like this, they may take time to
show results and you shouldn’t be lazy too. Also, try not to use more than the
