The Importance Of Higher Studies

Higher education is important in today’s society. It helps you with your personal development but sadly most teenagers do not turn up for their higher education. Some of the parent's mentality is to find a partner for their son or daughter as soon as they have completed their secondary examination level. Obviously, those teenagers get involved with family development instead of personal development. I did not say that marrying at a young age is not wise but it would be better if you have a good educational background before you move to the next stage in your life. Moreover, you will be respected in the society and you can save yourself from any situation. For example, one of my aunt of four children have gone through a divorce and only education saved her and her children’s life. She did her teaching course when she was a teenager and now she is a secondary school English teacher. So who saved her life? Her parents? Her husband? Or her education?

Next, the other importance of higher education will give you a realization of passion. As we all know, there are so many institutions in Malaysia and one of them is IKBN. Most of us have this mentality where those who graduate from such institutions do not settle up and it is such a waste of time. We are totally wrong. I have seen so many successful entrepreneur graduated from IKBN. If we look into it, there are tans of courses that helps teenagers to move towards their passion. Working as a chef is also an achievement as long as they love it and on the right track. The more education we persuade the more we are into our passion. I still remember I was in my science stream in secondary school, I did my foundation in TESL and now here I am doing my Journalism. Three different tracks yet I had a great chance to discover what I want to become and yes here I am.

Moving on, there are many walking phones instead of walking books. What I meant was, before teenagers are told to read books and educate their minds in their free time but obviously, teenagers choose reading through smartphones. There are many good articles and topics we can read through social media but there is a huge difference between reading in a smartphone and book. I still remember that our parents taught us alphabets through objects but parents these days are teaching their children alphabets through visuals through smartphones and it all starts from there. What do you think the future teenager's mindset would be? Even now there are many of them who tend to work after completing their secondary level. They do not choose quite a job because they are earning a high salary. At that point, they feel that higher education is useless. Even I had the same situation a few months back. I was working in a well-known telecommunication company as a Customer Care Officer and my basic was RM2500. What else I want as a teenager? Good income and the good life I did not think about continuing my studies because money almost made me blind and there comes a day where I was offered this course. It was a hard time for me to choose which is the best and I know I took the right decision because I know that I can get high income if I completed my higher education.

Lastly, higher education is important because education gives us self-empowerment. It helps us to tap into our talent, so that you may be able to sharpen your skills. It is important for everyone to have education in their life. At the end of the day, education will give you a turning point in any situation. It helps you in various ways such as happy and stable life, money, equality, makes you self dependent, turns your dream into reality, makes you confident, and most importantly saves you from being fooled or cheated. There is a saying where “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world”.So what are you waiting for? Go and educate your beautiful mind and inspire others.
