Types of 'LOVE'

'If it ain't love. Why does it feel so good'- Jason Derulo

Love. A feeling that makes our hearts pump fast, gives us a blood rush and turns our world upside down. Do you know that we are beings made from love and are called love one another ? So, love is an element that lives in all of us. Here's something about love, there are actually few types of love. They come in terms that originated from Greece.

Do you know Greeks are emotional people? They tend to show their emotions and not hide them. And for them, it is okay to express one's feelings and emotions in their gestures and behaviour. Ancient Greek and their studies on love classify love into three main categories. Some say five or seven but I'm just showing the notable three.

1) Agape

Agape is known as the higher form of love, the love of 'God for man and man for God'. It is an altruistic, selfless and unconditional type of love. Some say Agape is considered a spiritual love. And this kind of love can be seen among Christians where Christ showed his love for all mankind. He gave His life in exchange of their sins and to ensure their have a ticket to heaven. This act is selfless and unconditional.

2) Phileo

Phileo is known as brotherly-love. To give a clearer picture, this kind of love is the one you show to your friends or siblings. Love doesn't necessarily have to be associated with romance. According to Plato, he said that love isn't always in need for physical attention. Phileo is love without sexual acts. This love is good for your health becaue it is from the touch of loved ones.

3) Eros

Ok. This, is said to be the dangerous type of love among all other type of love. Eros is named after the Greek god of love and fertility. Eros is associated with pleasure, desire, romance and physical love. Eros is more focused on the person's sexual needs instead of the person and this love is common between people who are physically attracted to one another. In the modern context or Western context, some say Eros is related to lust. Generally, the Greeks were afraid of this kind of love. Why? It is because this love can be so strong and result to loss of control. It is like meddling with fire. Eros is a love that "burns hot and bright but burns out fast". This love doesn't last for a long time because it merely depends on desire, pleasure and physical attention. Once that desire disappears, so does the love. However, Eros can sometimes be good. For instance, it is okay to be a bit romantic when you're with your partner but make sure that it doesn't fully overtake you till you loose control. Best keep this love at a minimal level. Eros is also good and is okay for those who are married, I repeat, 'MARRIED'.

OK Greek terms aside. Types of love is not a big issue. The main issue is that love comes from within. It is pure, honest and genuine. Love does not have to be like 'sweeping you off your feet' you or 'giving you butterflies' all the time. Sometimes with the simplest act, love is displayed. Whether it is physical or emotional, you'll know the love you have is true when it is balanced; and not for self pleasure.

Gratitude

What is gratitude? Gratitude is a way of being thankful or show appreciation for and to return kindness. In the beginning, I only know gratitude as a greeting where we need to thank people for their help or time but I got to know that gratitude has much power in it. Special thanks to my friend for introducing me to this, she made wonders and so am I. So this is how it works, get a book, any book which is comfortable for you to write. Start your writing with "Thank you God" and end your writing with "Thank you, God". You have to write things about everything in the past tense. For example, you have applied for a job and you are waiting for their call. So you write like "Thank you, God, I have already joined the job" You gotta write as if it already happened. But this does not work all the time. The purpose of doing this where you create a positive vibe where good things have already happened and will happen if you have input your hard work. I have also ...

A sari, saree or sharee is a ladies' article of clothing from the Indian subcontinent that comprises of an unstitched wrap fluctuating from 4.5 to 9 meters (15 to 30 feet) in length and 600 to 1,200 millimeters (24 to 47 inches) in breadth that is normally folded over the midsection, with one end hung over the shoulder, covering a bigger part of the midriff.
