VRIKSASANA - Tree pose
Vriksasana/Tree pose is a balancing asana. It is one of the very few standing poses in hatha yoga and it is popular in modern yoga exercise. Ways to perform vriksasana pose :
- stand with arms at side
- shift weight into left leg and place sole of the right foot inside left thigh, keeping hips facing forward
- once balanced, bring hands in front of you in prayer position, palms together
- on an inhalition, extend arms over shoulders, palms seperated and facing each other
- hold for 30 second each side
Benefits of vriksasana :
- improves balance and stability in the legs
- strengthens the ligaments and tendon of the feet
